Erin’s Favorite Moments from Series 9

WARNING: Contains spoilers for Series 9, including Hell Bent. If you’re not caught up, come back later!

Alright. To distract myself from the kerfuffle that was Hell Bent, here is a list of my top 5 moments from this series. I put them chronologically because I hate favorites and making decisions.

I didn’t read many spoilers, so a lot of things were a surprise to me, starting with….

“Tell me the name of the boy who isn’t going to die today!”

“Davros.”

That was a jaw-drop moment for me. What a great way to kick off the series. Plus, it got me to watch some Classic Who for the backstory!

Missy, particularly all her quips in The Witch’s Familiar. “Not seeing you as sandwiches now.” lol forever.

When we finally see where the Doctor got his current face. I’m glad that he remembers someone that he met so long ago.

Osgood’s 7th Doctor outfit. Just because I have a 7th Doctor cosplay, and now it would be really easy to do an Osgood cosplay!

The entirety of Heaven Sent. It was just perfect. But there were a few points I really loved. The explanation of all the calculations the Doctor does, when he talks to the door and gets it to open, and when everything finally comes together and you (and he) realize what’s going on. Also, thank goodness I didn’t read the synopsis for Heaven Sent, so I was properly surprised by Gallifrey.

HELL BENT (By Steven Moffat)

The Doctor playing Clara’s theme at the diner. I don’t usually cry at movies or TV shows. I didn’t even cry when Clara died in Face The Raven (sorry, Clara). But as soon as I heard those notes I was in tears.

All in all, I think it was a very good run. I’m already impatient for new episodes, but for now I’ll focus on brushing up on River’s timeline before the Christmas special.
